This past weekend’s home series was like so many others this season for the Cincinnati Reds (31-38), who share fourth place in the NL Central with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Reds outscored the Texas Rangers over the 3-game set, but were only able to claim one victory. Scoring runs will come at a premium over the next three days as the Reds welcome the Houston Astros to town.
Two of the best pitching staffs in the game will be toeing the rubber at Great American Ball Park. For a Reds team that has little margin for error, the offense will need to take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way.
