Cincinnati Reds Lose to Phillies in Extras as Bullpen Blows Another Lead

W: Luis Garcia (2-1, 4.15)

L: Ryan Mattheus (0-1, 1.93)

It’s like déjà-vu, all over again.

The Cincinnati Reds were up 4-0 going into the ninth inning, and the Philadelphia Phillies had only gotten one hit in the entire game. I was fully prepared to write about Mike Leake’s spectacular outing, as he had 6 2/3 innings of no-hit ball, and even had a perfect game going through the first 3 2/3 innings. The Reds seemed to be cruising towards a much needed victory.
