OAKLAND, Calif. – The Reds had one big inning during Wednesday’s game against the Oakland Athletics, but they didn’t exactly end their offensive struggles.
After a four-run second inning, the Reds had four hits for the remainder of the night in a 5-4 loss to the A’s in 13 innings at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. The Reds dropped their record to 1-4 in extra innings and 5-12 in one-run games. No other team has more than eight losses in one-run games.
A’s outfielder Stephen Piscotty crushed a walk-off home run to left field against Reds reliever Robert Stephenson on Stephenson’s fourth pitch of the night.
