Cincinnati Reds land Trevor Bauer in three-team trade

With the trade deadline set for 4 PM today, the Cincinnati Reds made the biggest splash so far by landing right-hander Trevor Bauer. In exchange, the Reds sent Yasiel Puig to the Cleveland Indians along with left-handed prospect Scott Moss. Top prospect Taylor Trammell is headed to San Diego, as the Padres were part of the deal as well.

In addition to Puig, the Indians also received Franmil Reyes, Victor Nova, and Logan Allen from the Padres. While many fans will miss Yasiel Puig, the slugger is slated to become a free agent after this season and given that the front office decided to move him before the deadline, it seems unlikely that they would’ve pursued him or met is asking price this offseason.
