OAKLAND, California – Joey Votto sat in the backseat of a car on his way to the Oakland Coliseum for Wednesday’s game against the Oakland A’s when they drove next to a police cruiser near the entrance of the stadium.

A cop spotted Votto in the car and told him with a straight face, “I think you got robbed last night.” Votto, retelling the story, squinted his face and was puzzled. He wasn’t sure what the cop meant.

“Let me know if you want to file a police report,” the cop deadpanned before Votto’s car pulled ahead.
