Catcher Aramis Garcia was out of the lineup for the fourth consecutive game Sunday, but the Reds are hopeful his finger injury won’t require a trip on the injured list.
Garcia is sidelined with a bruised left middle finger, which is on his glove hand. He injured it when it was struck on a swing by Chicago Cubs outfielder Rafael Ortega last week on a catcher’s interference, and then he aggravated the injury on a foul tip the following night.

“You think about where the finger sits in a glove, he hit my hand pretty deep,” Garcia said.
