Luis Castillo represents the latest young Reds pitcher who could be, might be, hopefully will be a top of the rotation pitcher. When he see Castillo follow a 98 mph fastball ball with a sharply breaking 84 mph slider or an 87 mph changeup, it’s easy to imagine him as a future ace.
Developing a starter to anchor the rotation is paramount for the Reds rebuild to be successful. The Reds can’t do what the Chicago Cubs did and buy a free-agent ace.
