The Cincinnati Reds made another big free agent signing Monday, albeit a coach, not a player.
The team hired Turner Ward as its hitting coach – Ward spent the last three years as hitting coach with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Ward hiring comes less than a week after the Reds hired Derek Johnson as pitching coach.
Ward's Dodgers played Johnson's Milwaukee Brewers in the 2018 National League Championship Series.
