GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The Reds hired former Boston Red Sox Manager John Farrell as a scout.
His first job: Scout the Reds.
“We hired Curt Young last year to do a similar job, and that’s get a fresh pair of eyes on our players in our system,” Reds Manager Bryan Price said. “(Farrell’s) a very good talent evaluator, especially with pitching. ... I think it's a good move.”
Farrell comes in with a clean slate.
