During the last month, Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart stood behind home plate and made throws to bases in front of Edgertronic slow-motion cameras, which can slow video to more than 1,000 frames per second.
The cameras are typically used for a pitcher’s bullpen session, so they can pinpoint any small changes with their grip or mechanics. It was the first time Barnhart peeked into his throwing mechanics and the coaching staff found some small tweaks that could help him improve.
