Cincinnati Reds game vs. Philadelphia Phillies begins in weather delay

PHILADELPHIA – There was no rain at Citizens Bank Park, but the tarp covered the infield when first pitch was scheduled for Monday’s game between the Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies.

The Phillies announced the game would begin in a weather delay because of the threat of rain in the area.

No new start time was announced.

Luis Cessa will make his second start of the season whenever the game resumes. He made one start in April as an opener, but he’ll serve as a starter until further notice. Noah Syndergaard will face the Reds for his second consecutive start.
