NEW YORK – About 40 minutes before first pitch Tuesday, the New York Mets announced their game against the Cincinnati Reds at Citi Field will begin in a rain delay.
The Mets have not announced an updated start time.
The Citi Field grounds crew unrolled the tarp about one hour before first pitch. It began pouring rain at the same time the grounds crew pulled the tarp over the infield.
The Reds will start left-handed pitcher Mike Minor against the Mets' Carlos Carrasco. The Reds have lost 17 of their last 24 games at Citi Field dating back to 2014, losing 5-1 in Monday's series opener.
