Cincinnati Reds' Freddy Galvis becomes the first 9-2 forceout since 2009

The Cincinnati Reds had their share of baserunners thrown out on the basepaths this season, but none as rare as what Freddy Galvis did in the fifth inning Tuesday.

With the bases loaded and one out in a one-run game, Nick Castellanos laced a line drive into right field. The ball dropped a few feet in front of Milwaukee Brewers right fielder Ben Gamel, who fielded it on one hop.

Galvis initially took one step toward the plate, then retreated to third base when he saw the line drive hanging in the air. He prepared to tag, saw the ball hit the ground and then dashed to the plate.
