Cincinnati Reds fall to Washington Nationals 5-3 after rainpocalypse

Jesse Winker banged out 4 more hits, because that’s just apparently what he’s going to for the rest of time now. It’s been a true marvel atop the Cincinnati Reds order on a daily basis, but even after sliding down a notch he’s kept right on raking.

He’s hitting .360, y’all.

Said bump down the order was to slot Eugenio Suarez into the leadoff spot to hopefully get his bat going, and after dingering off Max Scherzer in the series opener against the Washington Nationals, Suarez bonked another pair of singles today, too. Perhaps most importantly, that dinger off Scherzer and one of his singles today both went to the opposite field, hopefully an indication that his lengthy slump is being busted.
