Cincinnati Reds fall to Washington Nationals 13-7

Luis Castillo was the best of the young starting pitchers for the Reds last year. That doesn’t mean he won’t have bad days.

Saturday was a very, very bad day for young Mr. Castillo and the bullpen. Castillo put the Reds in a hole they could not get out of. The result was a 13-7 loss to the Washington Nationals before a crowd of 27,341 at Great American Ball Park.

Castillo, the 25-year-old right-hander, went five innings and allowed six runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out six.

Adam Eaton, the Miami University and Cincinnati Steam product, did a lot of damage for the Nationals.
