Cincinnati Reds enter first road trip with 'healthy anxiety' after league's COVID-19 cases

DETROIT – For the first time all month, Cincinnati Reds players left town and spent a night away from their in-season homes.

The Reds began their first road trip of the season when they flew to Detroit on Thursday night. Road trips are different after reading about the novel coronavirus outbreak in the Miami Marlins' clubhouse. Players woke up in their hotel rooms Friday to the news that the St. Louis Cardinals postponed a game because two players tested positive for COVID-19.

Reds Manager David Bell said there was some "healthy anxiety" throughout the team.
