After a car crash killed a Cincinnati Reds minor league player and injured two others, Reds president of baseball operations Dick Williams and manager David Bell visited the Dominican Republic earlier this week to speak to their teammates.
Jairo Capellán, a right-handed pitcher, died on Nov. 3. He was 19.
Raúl Hernandez, a right-handed pitcher, and Emilio Garcia, an outfielder, were later transferred to a hospital in Miami. Hernandez and Garcia are both 19 years old. They were teammates with Capellán in the Dominican Summer League last season.
"It was a very traumatic experience for our organization," Williams said on WLW's "Hot Stove League" Wednesday.
