The Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday demoted starting pitcher Rookie Davis to Triple-A Louisville, making him the third young starter to go to the minors in the last week. The Reds have also demoted left-hander Cody Reed for performance and to return to starting after pitching relief in the majors, and left-hander Amir Garrett to manage his innings.
A corresponding roster move will come Thursday when the team is in San Francisco. Davis struggled with pitch efficiency and putting away hitters, making it through five innings only once and posting a 7.
