MILWAUKEE – Mulligans are made for golf, not baseball, but Cincinnati Reds pitcher Justin Dunn was granted one after giving up two runs in the first inning Sunday.
Pitching opposite of Milwaukee Brewers co-ace Brandon Woodruff, Dunn likely knew runs would be at a premium. The bottom of the Reds lineup, however, erased that two-run deficit in the top of the second inning.
It was new life for Dunn, returning to the mound in a tie game.
He failed to take advantage of it.
Willy Adames and Rowdy Tellez hit back-to-back homers in the bottom of the second inning and Milwaukee's offense kept rolling.
