As teams continue to adjust their 40-man rosters ahead of next week’s deadline to make decisions on players who are eligible for arbitration, the Reds announced a series of moves Monday.
The Reds claimed left fielder Nick Martini off waivers from the San Diego Padres, added right-handed pitcher Justin Shafer in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays for cash, and they designated outfielder Brian O’Grady and reliever Jimmy Herget for assignment.
