Jose Fernandez and the Miami Marlins made quick work of the Cincinnati Reds in their series opening game, earning a shutout, 2-0 win in just two hours and 31 minutes.
The Reds never posed much of a threat in Fernandez’s second game back from Tommy John surgery, getting thoroughly dominated from start to finish. Feranandez allowed six hits and no walks in his seven innings of work while striking out nine.
