The Cincinnati Reds finished the 2019 season 75-87 and, for the sixth consecutive year, missed the postseason. What began with a go-ahead blast off the bat of Derek Dietrich on Opening Day in front of a sold-out crowd at Great American Ball Park ended with Eugenio Suárez throwing across the diamond to first baseman Kyle Farmer for the final out of the season.
A 1-8 start doomed the Reds from the jump, though Cincinnati tried valiantly to climb back into a crowded race for the NL Central crown in late-July and early-August. But, it was not to be and the front office sent the likes of Yasiel Puig, Scooter Gennett and Tanner Roark packing at the July 31st deadline.
