The only thing uglier than the Players Weekend uniforms was the Cincinnati Reds (60-69) performance on the field. Inexplicably, the Reds managed to be swept by a Pittsburgh Pirates team that had gone 8-30 in the second half entering Friday night. In a season filled with ups and downs, it certainly feels as if the Redlegs have reached their lowest depths of 2019.
One would believe playing the Miami Marlins is exactly what the Reds need, but as we witnessed over the weekend, there’s no reason for Reds Country to be over confident. Cincinnati swept a 3-game set with the Marlins earlier this season in the Queen City and they looking to capture their first season series victory over Miami since the 2014 campaign.
