Cincinnati Reds-Arizona Diamondbacks game suspended in 8th inning (weather)

Lucas Sims tried to pitch through sheets of sleet with the bases loaded and one out Tuesday.

After issuing a bases-loaded walk to Carson Kelly, which gave the Arizona Diamondbacks a 5-4 lead in the eighth inning, Sims had enough.

Sims showed his displeasure with home-plate umpire Jansen Visconti by throwing all four balls that Visconti gave him to the dugout because they were too wet. The game was later suspended and will resume at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday.

Once a game begins, it's up to the umpires to make the decision to call for the tarp and enter a rain delay.
