Cincinnati Reds-Arizona Diamondbacks enter rain delay in 8th inning

Lucas Sims tried to pitch through sheets of rain with the bases loaded and one out Tuesday.

After issuing a bases-loaded walk to Carson Kelly, which gave the Arizona Diamondbacks a 5-4 lead in the eighth inning, Sims had enough.

Sims showed his displeasure with home-plate umpire Jansen Visconti by throwing all three balls that they gave him to the dugout.

Catcher Tucker Barnhart put his hands up in the air and seemed to voice his frustration with crew chief Jerry Meals, who was the second-base umpire. Reds manager David Bell walked onto the field to chat with umpires for a second time and didn't leave until the tarp came out a few minutes later.
