GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Ideally to fit into the Reds’ plans this year, Dilson Herrera could play multiple positions.
But, right now, Herrera can’t even play second base, his natural position. Herrera, 24, is still rehabbing from August right shoulder surgery. He’s able to hit. He has 15 at-bats as a pinch-hitter or designated hitter this spring.
His shoulder is getting better.
“It feels good,” he said. “It’s close to where I want to be. It’s feeling really good now. I’m doing all my throws. I’ve been working hard on that. I think I’m close to being able to play on defense.
