Sonny Gray talks about what he told David Bell to remain in the game during the eighth inning of the Reds' 3-0 win over the Brewers. John Fay, Cincinnati Enquirer
The Cincinnati Reds didn’t have a left-handed pitcher available during Thursday’s series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers. Lefty reliever Amir Garrett was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left lat strain, and the Reds called up utility player Josh VanMeter to fill his roster spot.
Garrett has yielded a 1.70 ERA in a team-high 42 relief appearances, striking out 54 in 37 innings.
