One of the best parts about being a fan of a professional baseball team, is that once you begin to follow them for several years, and eventually several decades, you become a fan of all new generations of players to root for. In the long history of the Cincinnati Reds franchise, that principle has been true, as fans in the Queen City have worshipped many beloved heroes, such as Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Barry Larkin and more.
The last decade of Reds baseball has been no different. Beginning in 2010, with a surprise NL Central Division Championship, capped by a walk-off home run by Jay Bruce, and concluding with a 2019 season that has given fans hope that the latest rebuild that the Reds have embarked on is going to produce fruitful results in the near future.
