Cincinnati Reds, all 30 MLB teams pledge $1 million to help ballpark employees

All 30 Major League Baseball teams, including the Cincinnati Reds, pledged to commit $1 million each to assist ballpark employees who are impacted by the postponement of the big-league season.

The league entered an indefinite delay because of the novel coronavirus pandemic. The CDC's latest recommendation restricted events with 50 or more people for the next eight weeks, so MLB will not begin playing regular season games until at least late-May.

"Over the past 48 hours, I have been approached by representatives of all 30 clubs to help assist the thousands of ballpark employees affected by the delay in the start of the Major League Baseball season," MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement.
