ST. LOUIS - The Reds added two players Saturday – the day roster expanded. In are right-hander Lucas Sims and shortstop Blake Trahan.
The club also released right-hander Zack Weiss.
Sims, 24, was one of three players obtained in the Adam Duvall trade with Atlanta. He was 4-5 with a 3.11 ERA in Triple-A. He had 115 strikeouts and 39 walks in 101 1/3 innings.
He's pitched in 20 games (10 starts) the last two year for the Braves, going 3-6 with a 5.96 ERA.
