I’d like to remember the good ol’ days of Scott Schebler. The walk-off dinger against the St. Louis Cardinals, admirably stepping into the void created in RF by the Cincinnati Reds in the heart of their rebuild. The 30-dinger season, the willingness to put ball before body.
There was, for a time, a lot to like about Schebler, though that was back when he had two fully-functioning shoulders. As those days increasingly became more past than present, however, it became clear that he’d been passed on the roster by several others, making the news today that he’d been designated for assignment almost an afterthought, unfortunately.
