President of Baseball Operations Dick Williams has classified the Cincinnati Reds as buyers with the July 31st trade deadline quickly approaching. If that’s true, which Reds’ prospects or minor leaguers might other general managers and front office executives have their eyes on?
During an interview with C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic, Williams said the Reds were “in the buyer category”. Williams told Mark Sheldon of MLB.com that the Reds would be looking for “players that would help us in a window, not just this year.” If Cincinnati is looking for a controllable hitter or pitcher, it’s going to cost them a pretty penny.
