The Cincinnati Reds are in the final stages of setting their 30-man roster with three days remaining until Opening Day, but the team held off any official announcements Tuesday.
Most players were informed of their roster status over the last few days. Nate Jones, Brooks Raley and Cody Reed will round out the bullpen. Josh VanMeter and Kyle Farmer will serve as backups in the infield. Travis Jankowski will make the roster an extra outfielder. Derek Dietrich was granted his release and Mark Payton, the team’s Rule 5 selection, was returned to Oakland because he wasn’t placed on the active roster.
