MARYVILLE, Ariz. – Scooter Gennett paid a price for a sliding stop on a ground ball Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Cincinnati Reds second baseman had to the leave the game with an apparent injury in the second inning after a recording the out on a sharply hit ball off the bat of Orlando Arcia.
Gennett appeared to mouth “it popped” to trainer Steve Baumann before he was helped off the field by Baumann and Reds' manager David Bell.
A cart was used later to take Gennett away from the ball park.
