WASHINGTON, D.C. – Right-hander Hunter Greene, the Reds’ top pick and the second pick overall in the 2017 draft, is done for the year. Greene, 18, sprained his ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow in a bullpen session.

The ulnar collateral ligament is one repaired in Tommy John surgery. Greene will not have the surgery at this point.

“Right now, it’s rehab,” general manager Nick Krall said. “It’s non-surgical. We’re going to evaluate it as we move through the offseason and go from there.
