There are two things the Cincinnati Reds did in 2015 like they were going out of style; start rookie pitchers and have injuries players, and Jon Moscot did both. Moscot was called up by the Reds in June, after spending April and May in the Triple-A Louisville Bats, but unfortunately only had three starts with the Reds.
Moscot started his year in Louisville impressively, starting three games in April, going 3-0 with a monthly ERA of 2.16. Moscot pitched a total of 16.2 innings, only giving up four earned runs while collecting 16 strikeouts. He continued his minor league season with an great May, having six starts and earning a 4-1 record, with only one poor outing, and earning an 18/12 strikeout to walk ratio, which was good enough for him to be called up to the Reds.
