The Chicago Cubs appeared to stop play to ask umpires on separate occasions during a 10-inning loss in Wednesday's series finale against the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field to examine gloves worn by Reds relief pitchers Robert Stephenson and Raisel Iglesias.
The second time - as Iglesias' glove was scrutinized before he retired the side in the bottom of the 10th inning of the Reds' 3-2 win - FOX Sports Ohio analyst Chris Welsh suggested that it reeked of desperation.
