On a team where every player has a choreographed celebratory handshake, new Cincinnati Reds catcher Ryan Lavarnway didn’t have anything planned after crushing a three-run homer over the right-field wall in the third inning Friday.
Lavarnway broke into a smile after rounding third base. He gave a pair of high-fives to teammates José Iglesias and Tyler Mahle once he crossed the plate. Iglesias rubbed the top of his helmet.
