Brian O’Grady was sitting on a couch at his parents’ house in Pennsylvania when he received a phone call with a Georgia area code. Jody Davis, the manager at Triple-A Louisville, was on the other end.
O’Grady held up his pointer finger toward his mom while he listened to Davis on the phone. He flew home to see his parents on an off day before Louisville would play nearby Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
“She was like, ‘What does this mean?’ She was freaking out,” O’Grady said. “My dad was upstairs. They took off work because they were planning to come to all the (Triple-A) games this week, so it actually worked out well.
