The Milwaukee Brewers might have solved two infield issues with one transaction Wednesday.
The Brewers agreed to a two-year deal with free-agent second baseman Kolten Wong, a two-time Gold Glove winner who had played his entire career for the St. Louis Cardinals. The Athletic was first to report the deal, which will pay Wong $18 million over two years with an option for a third year that could add $8 million.
The deal is pending a physical and has not been announced by the Brewers.
Wong, 30, became a free agent at the outset of the offseason when the division rival Cardinals declined a $12.
