If the Reds have a weakness, it’s the bullpen. The front office showed confidence in last year’s group this offseason by not significantly addressing the relief corps.
That confidence was not rewarded Saturday night. Robert Stephenson and Michael Lorenzen combined to give up three runs in the seventh to blow the save. Closer Raisel Iglesias gave up two runs in the ninth to take the loss -- 6-4 to the Detroit Tigers at Great American Ball Park.
All three gave up home runs. Iglesias kept his closer job, despite going 3-12 last year, setting a single-season club record for losses by a reliever.
