Bullpen Happens, Reds lose 5-4

Jay Bruce came into this game on a cold streak. In his past seven games he had hit .150/.150/.350. Hopefully tonight was a step in the right direction as he helped power the Cincinnati offense. Bruce popped a two run opposite field home run in the bottom of the 4th, and it put Cincinnati in the lead...for a time. He also led off the bottom of the 9th with a single.

Honorable Mentions: Alfredo Simon's night was a mixed bag, but it was enough to keep Cincinnati in the lead...for a time (6 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 2 SO, 3 HR); Steve Delabar recorded three outs without giving up a run; Billy Hamilton was 1-4 with a triple; Tucker Barnhart went 2-4 and scored a run.
