First, assemble a group of talented players. That’s the most important part of the recipe. Second, those players need to perform well. To do that, they need to stay healthy. Those are the main ingredients for success. Roster is reality.
Major league managers have little impact on wins and losses. Managers keep a close eye on the pot to make sure the food doesn’t boil over or burn and they decide when to stir. But lineups, playing time, bunts, they barely matter. That doesn’t mean those topics don’t make interesting fodder for places like this.
