Big-league experience could be bench priority for Reds

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Looking around the clubhouse at the Cincinnati Reds’ spring training home here, it’s hard to find much big-league experience to help out on the bench. But that’s probably because the two most likely bench candidates have yet to report.

Outfielder Desmond Jennings, signed earlier this month to a minor-league deal, is due Sunday after dealing with family issues the first few days of camp. The Reds will also be introduced then to utility man Ryan Raburn, inked to a minor-league deal on Friday.

With the starting lineup set, both are expected to compete for supporting roles.
