With preseason workouts set to begin later this week at Great American Ball Park and Prasco Park in Mason, the Cincinnati Reds submitted their initial player pool Sunday with few surprises.
The Reds are inviting all players on their 40-man roster to camp, along with many of their non-roster invitees to spring training. They filled 57 spots of their 60-man player pool, so they could add three players. It's an important roster decision because those are the only players in the organization invited to preseason camp.
MLB teams had a 4 p.m. deadline Sunday to finalize their 60-man player pools.
