Amir Garrett joked that he frequently breaks into an Allen Iverson impersonation when talking to coaches about his ramp up toward spring training games:
“We talking about practice? Practice?”
It’s been a slow start to camp for Garrett, who was briefly sidelined after he felt some soreness in his left forearm. It wasn’t considered serious, but he was eased into throwing on flat ground and now bullpen sessions. He hopes that he will begin playing in spring training games late next week.
“It’s a relief because you always have, as a baseball player, these little nagging pains or injuries or whatever aches,” Garrett said.
