Amir Garrett leaves game with hand injury

LOS ANGELES -- Cincinnati Reds left-hander Amir Garrett left the Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium after taking a line drive off his left hand in the bottom of the second. The precise nature of his injury is yet to be announced.

The 24-year-old Garrett was hurt when Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes smoked a ball back to the mound to start the inning. Garrett reflexively reached up with both hands, and the ball apparently smacked him in the left palm. Garrett immediately fell to the ground in pain, rolling over onto his back as trainers and manager Bryan Price rushed to his side.
