LOS ANGELES –– Cincinnati Reds journeyman reliever Alex Young got booed as he ran out to the mound on Friday night at Dodger Stadium.
Young is a journeyman, but the Dodgers crowd knew him as an old rival from the San Francisco Giants. He entered the game in one of the most high-pressure situations of his career, trying to hold onto a one-run lead with the bases loaded.
Reds outfielders Jake Fraley and Spencer Steer provided the power with home runs in the Reds’ 6-5 win over the Dodgers on Friday night. But Young was the unsung hero who saved the day.
