After a career year, Reds shortstop Kyle Farmer can finally stop changing his swing

GOODYEAR, Ariz. –– In nearly every year of his big league career before 2022, Cincinnati Reds shortstop Kyle Farmer made a big adjustment in the offseason.

After the 2018 season, Farmer changed his stance. Following 2019, Farmer moved his hands up on the bat. Entering the 2021 season, Farmer changed his stance again and modeled his swing after Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star Justin Turner.

In 2021, Farmer found the adjustment that worked. He became a full-time starter for the first time and hit .263 with 16 home runs. For the first time in his big league career, Farmer didn’t have to re-make his swing this offseason.
