GOODYEAR, Ariz. — None of the roster spots open in Reds’ camp will be decided in the first week of Cactus League games — especially with more than 30 of those games remaining. That’s good news for two pitchers looking to break camp in the rotation.
Right-handers Tim Adleman and Robert Stephenson gave up a total of six runs in three innings against the Giants on Sunday at Goodyear Ballpark.
Adleman, who started, benefitted by a runner being thrown out at the plate to end a scoreless first. Despite getting through that inning unscathed, he gave up a two-run home run to Conor Gillaspie before retiring the final three batters he faced.
